GTTCI Celebrates World Environment Day 2024 with Embassy of Mongolia
New Delhi, 2nd June 2024 – The Global Trade & Technology Council of India (GTTCI) celebrated World Environment Day with the Embassy of Mongolia, bringing together diplomats and ambassadors in a unified effort to address climate change and promote environmental sustainability. The event, held at the GTTCI Secretariat, saw the participation of numerous distinguished guests, including Chief Guest H.E. Mr. Ganbold Dambajav, Ambassador of Mongolia, and H.E. Mr. Moe Kyaw Aung, Ambassador of Myanmar, alongside diplomats from the embassies of Belarus, Libya, and the USA.
In his keynote address, H.E. Mr. Ganbold Dambajav reaffirmed Mongolia’s commitment to combating climate change through robust government initiatives. Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President of GTTCI, welcomed the guests and emphasized that celebrating World Environment Day with the Embassy of Mongolia has been a cherished tradition for the past four years.
A significant highlight of the event was the launch of an initiative in partnership with Karo Sambhav NGO, focusing on the systematic disposal of e-waste to protect the environment. GTTCI members and guests collectively pledged to plant trees, reinforcing their dedication to environmental conservation.
Dr. Pawan Kansal, Chairman of Industrial Export at GTTCI, committed to planting 5,100 trees on 5th June, while other attendees pledged to plant 10 trees each. This collective effort underscores the community’s commitment to creating a greener future.
The celebration also featured captivating cultural performances by children, and guests enjoyed the warm hospitality provided by Lopera. GTTCI members, including Kapil Khandelwal, Dr. Parmeet Singh Chadha, Mukul Garg, Pavan Vaish, Sushil Goel, Syed Yasir Gurdezi, Vimal Jain, and Shubham Gupta, presented plants to the attending diplomats as a gesture of goodwill and shared responsibility for the environment.
