Slovak Technologies & Innovation Day Explores Business Opportunities between India and Slovakia

New Delhi, February 22, 2024 – The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), in collaboration with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in India, organized the ‘Slovak Technologies and Innovation Day’ to foster bilateral trade and investment opportunities. The event was held at the Embassy of Slovak Republic, New Delhi.

The delegation, led by Mr. Juraj Blanár, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, and Mr. Rastislav Chovanec, State Secretary of Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, engaged in multi-sectoral B2B meetings focusing on various industries including Defence & Aviation, Human Resource, Railways, Construction, IT & Electronics, Packaging, Energy, and Media & Entertainment.

India and Slovakia have seen a significant upswing in trade relations, with India emerging as the 5th largest economy in the world, offering substantial opportunities for Slovakian businesses. In the fiscal year 2022-23, India’s exports to the Slovak Republic reached US$ 190 million, while imports from the Slovak Republic amounted to US$ 71 million.

The Slovakian business delegation comprised industry members representing diverse sectors, all eager to explore collaboration and investment opportunities in India. With Slovakia’s expertise in engineering and automobile production, coupled with India’s dynamic market, the event aimed to further enhance bilateral trade relations.

During the event, delegates engaged in fruitful discussions and networking sessions, laying the groundwork for future collaborations and partnerships. The multi-sectoral B2B meetings provided a platform for stakeholders from both countries to exchange ideas, explore synergies, and forge mutually beneficial relationships.

The ‘Slovak Technologies and Innovation Day’ underscored the commitment of both nations to strengthening economic ties and leveraging each other’s strengths for mutual growth and prosperity.
