New Delhi, June 2, 2025 — The Russian Trade Representation in India, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Russian Federation, hosted a thematic photo exhibition to commemorate the Day of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The event highlighted a decade of economic integration and cooperation among the EAEU member states—Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The keynote address was delivered by Roman Babushkin, Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister Counsellor at the Russian Embassy, who underscored the EAEU’s emergence as a successful and self-reliant regional bloc since the signing of its founding treaty on May 29, 2014. He emphasized the Union’s growing role in the evolving multipolar global order and highlighted the importance of concluding a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the EAEU to enhance bilateral trade, ease market access, and eliminate trade barriers.

Adding valuable insights to the discussion, Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President of the Global Trade & Technology Council (India), served as a spokesperson and delivered a speech during the event. Dr. Gupta highlighted the immense scope for India–EAEU cooperation in areas such as trade, energy, technology, and connectivity, while reinforcing GTTCI’s role in promoting economic diplomacy and multilateral collaboration.

Other distinguished speakers included Andrey Sobolev, Russian Trade Representative in India; Elena Remizova, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo in India; and Dmitry Sotnikov, Deputy CEO of VTB Bank’s Indian branch, who all echoed the collective commitment to strengthening India–EAEU relations.

The event was attended by representatives of the EAEU member states’ embassies, Indian ministries and agencies, trade organizations, export councils, and members of the media—demonstrating a shared vision for regional integration and global cooperation.
