The Global Trade & Technology Council (India), in association with Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU), Pune, successfully organised the Pune Knowledge, Industry & Investment Immersion Programme 2026 from 1 to 3 August 2026 in Pune, Maharashtra. The exclusive three-day programme brought together diplomatic representatives and international stakeholders for a curated engagement encompassing academic collaboration, industrial exposure, investment opportunities, cultural heritage and strategic networking.
Designed to strengthen India’s global economic and institutional partnerships, the programme offered participants an integrated experience of Pune’s academic ecosystem, industrial capabilities, investment potential and cultural heritage. The initiative reflected GTTCI’s continued commitment to creating meaningful platforms connecting foreign missions, educational institutions, businesses, investors and industry stakeholders.
The visiting delegation included Mr. Branimir Farkas, Political Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Croatia; Dr. Ayat Saad Ahmed Ismail, Head of Bureau of Cultural and Educational Relations, Embassy of Egypt; Ms. Sebika Lama, Secretary, Embassy of Egypt; Ms. Ann Kasichana Yaa, Second Secretary, Kenya High Commission, New Delhi; Mr. Abdirisak Seid Nur, Commercial Attaché, Embassy of Somalia; and Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President, Global Trade & Technology Council (India).
Academic and Institutional Engagement
The programme commenced on 1 August 2026 with the delegation’s arrival at the Pimpri Chinchwad University campus, followed by an interaction session at Pune Business School (PBS). The academic engagement provided an opportunity to explore areas of institutional cooperation, knowledge exchange, internationalisation and potential partnerships between Indian educational institutions and global stakeholders.
The delegation also visited the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple and Shaniwar Wada, offering participants an opportunity to experience Pune’s rich spiritual, historical and cultural heritage alongside its contemporary educational and business environment.
Exploring Investment, Industry and Pune’s Growth Ecosystem
On 2 August, the programme included visits to Prati Shirdi and Manshakti, followed by sightseeing at Aamby Valley and Pawna Dam. These engagements complemented the programme’s broader objective of presenting Pune as a destination offering diverse opportunities across knowledge, infrastructure, enterprise, tourism and investment.
The third day focused strongly on institutional and industrial engagement. The delegation visited S. B. Patil Public School, held a meeting with Pimpri Chinchwad University leadership, and visited the Nutan Campus. The programme further included an industrial visit to Talegaon MIDC & Industrial Belt and a meeting at the B. M. Kakade Office, enabling participants to gain insights into Pune’s industrial and business ecosystem.
Building International Partnerships Through Immersion
The Pune Knowledge, Industry & Investment Immersion Programme was structured around five key focus areas: Academic & Institutional Collaboration, Industry Exposure, Investment & Business Networking, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Cultural & Heritage Experience.
By bringing together representatives of multiple foreign missions with Indian academic and business stakeholders, the programme created a platform for dialogue on potential collaborations, knowledge partnerships, investment linkages and international business engagement.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President, GTTCI, emphasised the importance of developing practical platforms that move beyond conventional dialogue and enable international stakeholders to experience India’s institutional, industrial and cultural strengths firsthand.
The programme also underscored the growing importance of Pune as a centre of education, innovation, manufacturing, entrepreneurship and investment, offering significant potential for international cooperation.
