Celebrating Mauritius: Culture, Heritage, and Unity

On April 18, 2024, the Embassy of Mauritius in Delhi played host to a grand celebration of the National Day of Mauritius. The event was a memorable occasion marked by the presence of His Excellency H.E. Mr. Haymandoyal Dillum and Shri Pavan Kapoor, Secretary (West) at the Ministry of External Affairs of India, who graced the function as the chief guest.

The celebration saw the attendance of approximately 300 guests, comprising Indian dignitaries and senior officials, Ambassadors and High Commissioners, business and industry leaders, and Mauritian nationals, including students from Mauritius. The presence of such a diverse group of attendees highlighted the strong diplomatic and cultural ties between India and Mauritius.

During the event, Secretary (West) Shri Pavan Kapoor represented the Indian Government, further underscoring the close relationship between the two countries. The celebration included a variety of cultural performances, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of Mauritius.

The event also featured GTTCI as the official gifting partner, adding a special touch to the festivities. GTTCI’s contribution helped to enhance the overall experience of the attendees, emphasizing the significance of the occasion.
