Invest in Brunei Darussalam

The Global Trade & Technology Council (India) actively participated in the “Invest in Brunei Darussalam” seminar held at the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam in New Delhi on January 22, 2024. The event was organized by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) in collaboration with the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam, showcasing opportunities for foreign direct investment (FDI) in the nation.

The BEDB, the central statutory body of the Brunei Darussalam government responsible for promoting and attracting FDI, conducted an Investment Promotion Trip to Mumbai and New Delhi from January 16 to 22, 2024. The focus of the visit was on two key sectors: Downstream Oil and Gas, and Food.

Key objectives of the trip included:

– Showcasing investment and business opportunities in Downstream Oil and Gas (methanol, benzene, acetic acid, and aniline derivatives) and Food (food processing and packaging) sectors to Indian companies.

– Building relationships with key trade associations and chambers of commerce to position Brunei Darussalam as an attractive investment and business destination.

– Generating an FDI pipeline through engagement with new companies.

The BEDB delegation, led by Mr. Daniel Leong, Acting CEO for BEDB and Darussalam Enterprise (DARe), and chaired by HE Mr. Dato Alaihuddin Mohd Taha, High Commissioner of Brunei. A comprehensive Investment Seminar was held in New Delhi on January 22, 2024, to further promote investment opportunities in Brunei Darussalam.

During the seminar, Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President of GTTCI, along with members Mahendra Sharma and Naresh Mangal, felicitated the delegation. They engaged in discussions with Mr. Daniel Leong and other members regarding various prospects of investment and the promotion of schemes and opportunities in India. The discussions aimed at fostering collaboration between the two nations for mutual economic growth.

The Global Trade & Technology Council (India) expressed its commitment to exploring avenues for strengthened bilateral ties and enhancing economic cooperation between India and Brunei Darussalam.
