The closing ceremony of the Asian Youth Games 2025 in Manama, Bahrain, was a momentous occasion celebrating the continent’s finest young athletes and the unifying spirit of sports. The event was graced by the keynote address of The Hon. Timothy Fok Tsun Ting, GBM, GBS, JP, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia (East Asia), President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, and a distinguished member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
As the chief speaker of the evening, Mr. Fok delivered a powerful and inspiring keynote address, highlighting the importance of youth empowerment through sports, the shared values of teamwork and resilience, and the enduring role of the Asian Youth Games in fostering unity among nations. His words deeply resonated with athletes, dignitaries, and officials alike, encapsulating the true spirit of the Games.
Under the leadership of Chef de Mission Padmashri Yogeshwar Dutt, the Indian contingent achieved its best-ever performance, securing a total of 48 medals (13 Gold, 18 Silver, and 17 Bronze) and showcasing India’s growing excellence in youth sports. The achievement was a proud moment for the nation, marking India’s rise as a formidable sporting power in Asia.


On the sidelines, Dr. Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson of GTTCI, held an insightful and engaging discussion with The Hon. Timothy Fok Tsun Ting on various dimensions of sports promotion and cooperation in India and across Asia. The exchange focused on enhancing sports diplomacy, encouraging youth development programs, and strengthening institutional partnerships to promote mutual growth and sporting excellence.


GTTCI commended the Asian Youth Games 2025 Organising Committee for hosting a truly historic edition of the event and extended its appreciation to all participating nations for their exceptional performances.
