GTTCI Signs Strategic MoUs with CWBTA and FAIVM to Strengthen National Trade Collaborations

New Delhi, May 20, 2025 – The Global Trade & Technology Council (India) [GTTCI] signed landmark Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two of India’s most respected trade bodies — the Confederation of West Bengal Trade Associations (CWBTA) and the Federation of All India Vyapar Mandal (FAIVM) — during a special ceremony held at the International Tea Day celebration hosted by Dentem at Vasant Vihar Club, New Delhi.

Both CWBTA and FAIVM are legacy institutions with thriving business networks spanning hundreds of thousands of enterprises across India. The signing of these MoUs represents a significant milestone in GTTCI’s ongoing efforts to build stronger trade alliances within the country and connect them to global platforms.

Mr. Sushil Poddar, President of CWBTA, and Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President of GTTCI, jointly outlined their shared vision for empowering India’s trade community through deeper collaboration, greater digital integration, and enhanced market access.

Dr. Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson of GTTCI, shared her vision for promoting the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), highlighting their pivotal role in India’s economic fabric. She announced that GTTCI will be hosting a dedicated MSME Conclave on MSME Day to support emerging businesses, with a special focus on entrepreneurs and industrial stakeholders from Madhya Pradesh. The conclave will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and access to trade and technology opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gupta emphasized, “The MoUs with CWBTA and FAIVM are more than agreements — they are a convergence of tradition and vision, local strength and global ambition. GTTCI is committed to bridging regional enterprise with international potential.”

The event witnessed the gracious presence of several esteemed members of the diplomatic community, including H.E. Mr. Jagnnath Sami, High Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji, along with the Deputy Chiefs of Mission from the Embassies of Croatia and Ecuador. Diplomats from the Embassies of Bangladesh, Belarus, Chile, Djibouti, Nigeria, Norway, Sri Lanka, and Trinidad & Tobago also joined the celebration, sharing insights into their respective countries’ tea cultures and traditions. Special guests from the Embassies of Zambia and Syria further enriched the gathering, making the celebration a truly global affair that highlighted tea as a unifying element across diverse nations and traditions.The signing of these MoUs further elevated the evening, reinforcing GTTCI’s dedication to inclusive growth, strategic collaboration, and economic diplomacy.
