GTTCI Signs Landmark MoU with Government of Telangana to Develop the International Sports City of Excellence

The GTTCI Trade Chamber marked a significant milestone at the prestigious Telangana Global Rising Summit, where a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed with the Government of Telangana for the development of a world-class International Sports City of Excellence. This initiative stands as one of India’s most transformative ventures in the sphere of global sports infrastructure and innovation.



The MoU was signed by Dr. Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson, GTTCI, and the Principal Secretary, Government of Telangana, in the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy and Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu Garu. Their gracious blessings and unequivocal assurance of full government support have set a strong foundation for the successful execution of this visionary project.



A Vision for Global Sporting Excellence

As outlined in the MoU, the Sports City will be developed across a minimum of 500 acres, integrating world-class stadiums, high-performance training academies, international event arenas, green mobility solutions, Paralympic manufacturing clusters, cutting-edge sports technology hubs, and advanced sports medicine and rehabilitation centres.

The initiative aligns with Telangana’s forward-looking vision to position the State as a global destination for elite sports, sports-tech innovation, and international tournaments, while catalysing economic growth and employment generation.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister extended their blessings and full support to the project, reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing land, facilitation of clearances, enabling infrastructure, and policy-based incentives to ensure seamless implementation and long-term success.

  • Provide infrastructure capable of hosting mega international events—including future Commonwealth-aligned capabilities
  • Develop a sports-led economic cluster with innovation, training, healthcare, and industrial linkages
