GTTCI Hosts Seminar on ‘Innovations in Cancer Care’ to Mark World Cancer Day 2025

New Delhi, 8 February 2025 – The Global Trade & Technology Council (India) (GTTCI), in collaboration with Sahayak Business Club, successfully organized a seminar on “Innovations in Cancer Care: From Awareness to Action” at India International Center, New Delhi. The event, held to mark World Cancer Day, brought together renowned medical experts, diplomats, and thought leaders to discuss advancements in cancer treatment and the role of technology in early detection and care.

The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President, GTTCI, who highlighted the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and modern medical technologies in revolutionizing early cancer detection and treatment.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Rashmi Saluja, who emphasized the importance of continuous innovation, policy support, and global collaboration to enhance cancer care solutions.

Dr. Rama Joshi, a leading robotic gynecologist, provided an insightful presentation on emerging technologies in cancer treatment, explaining how robotics is enhancing surgical precision, reducing recovery times, and significantly improving patient outcomes.

Dr. Mohsin Wali, a Padma Shri awardee and Senior Consultant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, shared valuable insights on preventive healthcare measures and the importance of early diagnosis in improving survival rates among cancer patients.

Ven. Bhikhu Sanghasena, Founder of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) in Ladakh, delivered a profound address, sharing his wisdom on the role of compassion and mindfulness in healing. He emphasized that hospitals should not just be treatment centers but spaces of holistic healing, where patients receive emotional and spiritual support alongside medical care.

The event also featured diplomatic perspectives on global cancer care initiatives. Mr. Nico Schiettekatte, Counselor for Health, Welfare, and Sport, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in India, shared their experiences in public health policies and international efforts in fighting cancer.

Adding to the distinguished lineup, HE Mr. KL Ganju, Consul General (Honorary) of the Union of the Comoros, discussed the importance of accessibility to advanced cancer treatments across developing nations.

Mr. Thabang Kholumo, Counselor, High Commission of the Kingdom of Lesotho, provided valuable insights on global healthcare partnerships and the significance of cross-border collaborations in medical advancements.

The seminar also saw the presence of diplomats from Suriname, Russia, and Somalia, who engaged in discussions on strengthening international cooperation in healthcare.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Neha Thukral, Founder of Sahayak Business Club, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, and participants for their valuable contributions in driving the conversation from awareness to action.
