The Global Trade & Technology Council (India) [GTTCI] had the honour of hosting a farewell ceremony in appreciation of the distinguished tenure of H.E. Mr. Arun Koemar Hardien, Ambassador of the Republic of Suriname to India. The evening was marked by warmth, camaraderie, and a shared spirit of international cooperation, reflecting the strong bonds nurtured during his diplomatic assignment in India.

The ceremony was graciously attended by several ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps, including the Ambassadors of Suriname, Timor-Leste, Sudan, Nepal, and Fiji, along with diplomats and representatives from Zambia, UNESCO, Palestine, Comoros, Guyana, Turkey, Belarus, Russia, China, Iraq, Bangladesh, Lesotho, and the Brazil Chamber. The gathering was further enriched by the presence of eminent special guests, including Dr. D.R. Kaarthikeyan, among other distinguished personalities.









As a mark of appreciation and remembrance, H.E. the Ambassador of Suriname was honoured with a special token, presented jointly by Dr. Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson, GTTCI, and Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President, GTTCI, acknowledging his valuable contributions to strengthening bilateral engagement between India and Suriname.

In his remarks, H.E. Mr. Hardien expressed his sincere gratitude to the GTTCI leadership for their constant support and collaboration. He fondly recalled his journey of working closely with GTTCI in India and conveyed optimism about the positive developments and opportunities that lie ahead in India–Suriname relations.

The farewell also reflected on the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between GTTCI and the Embassy of Suriname, which aims to bring together the business communities of both nations to promote bilateral trade and investment. The MoU focuses on key sectors such as oil and gas, natural resources, healthcare, and other areas of mutual economic interest, underscoring a forward-looking partnership.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rashmi Saluja spoke warmly of the close and cordial relationship shared with H.E. the Ambassador, highlighting the strong prospects for deeper economic and institutional cooperation between India and Suriname. Dr. Gaurav Gupta reflected on the many occasions of working together and noted that it had been a distinct pleasure to travel across India with the Ambassador, further strengthening people-to-people and institutional ties.

The evening concluded on a note of goodwill and mutual respect, reaffirming GTTCI’s continued commitment to fostering enduring international partnerships and advancing global trade and technology collaboration beyond individual tenures.
