“GTTCI and Suriname Forge New Global Partnerships for 2047 Vision”

New Delhi, August 20, 2024 — The Global Trade & Technology Council of India (GTTCI), in collaboration with the Embassy of Suriname in association with Indian Council for Human Relations (ICHR) and Lions Club Delhi Veg, successfully hosted a seminar on “India-Suriname Relations” under the theme “India’s Global Partnerships – A Key to a Developed Nation by 2047.” This event was held at the Embassy of Suriname in New Delhi as part of the celebrations marking the 78th Independence Day of India.

The seminar was attended by distinguished diplomats and representatives from various foreign missions, including Ghana, Ethiopia, Guyana, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Tajikistan, Germany, and other VIPs. The event commenced with the national anthems of India and Suriname, followed by a traditional Ganesh Vandana, setting the stage for a series of insightful discussions.

Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President of GTTCI and Treasurer of the Indian Council for Human Relations (ICHR), welcomed the esteemed guests and introduced the key speakers. Mr. K.L. Malhotra, General Secretary of ICHR, provided the opening remarks, highlighting the importance of strengthening ties between India and Suriname.

Dr. Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson of GTTCI and Religare Group, delivered special remarks focusing on India’s global partnerships and their role in achieving the nation’s development goals by 2047. The keynote address was given by His Excellency Mr. Arunkoemar Hardien, Ambassador of Suriname, who emphasized the longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship between the two countries.

Special guest, Mr. A.K. Merchant, Trustee of the Bahai Temple, graced the occasion, further enriching the dialogue on global partnerships and cultural exchange.

One of the highlights of the event was the mesmerising performances by renowned artist Prabha Dubey and her troupe. They captivated the audience with a blend of Indian classical, Rajasthani folk, and patriotic performances that celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage.

The seminar also featured remarks from attending ambassadors and diplomats and GTTCI member Mr. Naveen Sharma, who shared their perspectives on the theme of India’s global partnerships. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. P.S. Dhingra, followed by a group photo, cake-cutting ceremony, and a networking session over high tea.

Several GTTCI members, including Lion Kapil Khandelwal, Sanjay Aggarwal, Gopal Khandelwal, Pawan Vaish, Deepanker, Preeti Puja and Dr. Tanvir Singh, also joined the celebrations, contributing to the vibrant and collaborative atmosphere of the event. Their presence further underscored the strong support and commitment within the GTTCI community toward fostering global partnerships.
