On September 12, 2024, the Global Trade & Technology Council of India (GTTCI), in collaboration with the Embassy of Ethiopia, New Delhi, commemorated the United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation. The event, hosted at the Ethiopian Embassy, was presided over by H.E. Mrs. Bizunesh Meseret, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Ethiopia.
Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President of GTTCI, initiated the event with an inspiring opening address. His remarks were followed by special insights from H.E. Mrs. Bizunesh Meseret, who highlighted Ethiopia’s commitment to enhancing South-South cooperation.
The gathering was graced by the presence of Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi, Former Minister of State for External Affairs (MoS – MEA), who delivered a keynote address. She drew on her deep knowledge of the Global South, underscoring the importance of fostering collaboration through trade and technology – principles central to GTTCI’s mission of shared prosperity.
Distinguished diplomats and ambassadors from several countries shared their views on the importance of South-South cooperation. The event was attended b H.E. Aloys, Ambassador of Burundi, H.E. Mr. K.L. Ganju, Consul General of Union of Comoros, Mr. Thabang Kholumo, Counsellor, Embassy of Lesotho, Diplomats from the embassies of Botswana, Ghana, Japan, Norway, Russia, and South Africa
The occasion was also enriched by the participation of GTTCI’s esteemed advisors, Dr. D.R. Kaarthikeyan (Former Director – CBI), Wing Commander Praful Bakshi, and Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Managing Director of Kendriya Bhandar.
Additionally, business leaders and GTTCI members such as Deepanker Parasher, Naveen Sharma, Neeraj Sharma, Preeti Puja, Vanya Arya, and Shubham Gupta added to the event’s success. Expats from Iran and Korea further contributed to the rich diversity of the gathering.
