The Global Trade & Technology Council (India), Police Public Press, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Human Relations (ICHR), hosted a farewell ceremony for Mr. Abdirisak Seid Nur, Commercial Attaché, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia, on 16 August 2026 at The Lalit, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The ceremony was held as part of the Global South Strategic Dialogue 2026, themed “Advancing South–South Partnerships for Trade, Technology, Investment & Viksit Bharat 2047.”
The occasion was graced by Shri Vipul Goel, Minister for Civil Aviation, Haryana, as the Chief Guest. The gathering brought together distinguished diplomatic representatives and international stakeholders, highlighting the importance of stronger South–South partnerships and India’s growing engagement with the Global South.
Representatives from the Arab League, Ethiopia, El Salvador, Iraq, Kenya and UNESCO participated in the dialogue, reflecting the diverse international engagement surrounding the initiative.
Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President, GTTCI, addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of strengthening South–South partnerships through greater cooperation in trade, technology, investment and diplomacy. He appreciated Mr. Nur’s contribution towards fostering India–Somalia economic engagement and expressed confidence in the continued growth of bilateral friendship and cooperation.
Mr. K.L. Malhotra, General Secretary, ICHR, and Mr. Pawan Kumar Bhoot, Chief Editor, Police Public Press, also addressed the gathering, sharing their perspectives on international cooperation, people-to-people engagement and the importance of strengthening institutional partnerships.
