New Delhi, July 2025 — In a groundbreaking step for Indian students dreaming of a world-class medical education, Kokand University, Andijan (Uzbekistan) has now been officially unveiled in India through a strategic collaboration facilitated by the GTTCI Trade Chamber.

With the vision of President of Uzbekistan to make Uzbekistan an extension of India’s medical education ecosystem, this initiative opens doors for Indian MBBS aspirants to pursue their medical degrees in a safe, secure, and culturally aligned environment. What makes this opportunity truly unique is the creation of a dedicated Indian Medical City in Andijan—spread across 55 acres—exclusively for Indian students.

The medical city will offer a curriculum aligned with India’s National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines, and be powered by an elite faculty team, including educators from India. The university combines international standards of infrastructure with affordability and Indian academic supervision—ensuring that students receive high-quality education with familiar support systems.

This Indo-Uzbek collaboration aims to nurture global medical professionals while maintaining Indian educational integrity. Students can expect curated admission processes, merit-based recruitment, and comprehensive academic and personal support throughout their journey.

This visionary partnership has been championed by leadership of Kokand University, and Dr. Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson of GTTCI. Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, under the leadership of Dr. Ajay Swaroop, has extended full support to elevate this initiative to global standards. “India and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital stand firmly committed to supporting this transformative journey. We are proud to be partners in this shared vision to build a world-class academic and healthcare infrastructure that will not only empower students from India but also enhance the quality of life for the people of Uzbekistan. Together, we shall strive to create a model that reflects the highest standards of medical education, patient care, and innovation.”

With admissions now open, Indian students have a new, credible, and promising pathway to fulfill their dream of becoming doctors—just a couple of hours from home.
