New Delhi, 18 September 2026: The Russian Speaking Women in Asia Trust, Russian House of Science and Culture, Embassy of the Russian Federation, and Global Trade & Technology Council (India) (GTTCI) jointly organised the Russian and Indian Women Dialogue – “Women Building Bridges” at the Russian House, New Delhi, bringing together women representatives and participants to celebrate India–Russia friendship, cultural exchange, and meaningful people-to-people connections.
The dialogue highlighted the important role of women in building bridges of understanding, cooperation and friendship between India and Russia. The programme provided a platform for meaningful interaction, cultural engagement and strengthening connections between the two communities.
Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President – GTTCI, reflected GTTCI’s continued engagement in initiatives that strengthen India–Russia relations through cultural, institutional and people-to-people exchanges. Mr. Sumit Varma and Dr. Urvashi Mittal, Board Members of GTTCI, also participated in the event.
The Indian panel featured Smt. Aashmeen K. Munjaal, Ms. Juhi Rajput, Ms. Poornima Gupta, and Dr. Urvashi Mittal, who contributed to the dialogue on the role of women in fostering connections, cultural understanding and collaborative relationships between India and Russia.
From the Russian side, Ms. Elena Barman, President, Indian Association of Russian Compatriots, participated in the dialogue, bringing perspectives on strengthening people-to-people and cultural ties between the two countries.
Ms. Yulia Aryaeva, Counsellor (Culture), Embassy of the Russian Federation, also addressed the gathering. Her address added an important cultural and diplomatic dimension to the dialogue, underscoring the significance of continued interaction, mutual understanding and cultural exchange in bringing the people of India and Russia closer.
A vibrant cultural segment further enriched the occasion, featuring performances by Indian students. Their presentations showcased India’s rich cultural heritage and highlighted the role of young people in promoting friendship and greater cultural understanding between the two countries.
The programme concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, recognising the participation and contributions of those associated with the event.
The theme “Women Building Bridges” reflected the broader spirit of fostering stronger connections through dialogue, culture, collaboration and mutual respect. The joint initiative by the Russian Speaking Women in Asia Trust, Russian House of Science and Culture, Embassy of the Russian Federation, and GTTCI reaffirmed the importance of platforms that bring together women leaders, young people, institutions and international communities, contributing to stronger cultural and bilateral relationships between India and Russia.
