Bio Pharma City Presents New Opportunities for India–Uzbekistan Healthcare Collaboration
The Global Trade & Technology Council (India) hosted a productive one-to-one discussion with MedPharm Agency in collaboration with Medical & Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, Republic of Uzbekistan. The interaction focused on strengthening India–Uzbekistan cooperation in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare manufacturing, research, innovation, and investment while fostering long-term business partnerships between the two countries.
A key focus of the discussion was Bio Pharma City, Uzbekistan’s flagship pharmaceutical ecosystem, which has been established to attract global investment and promote advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing. Designed as an integrated hub, the project offers modern industrial infrastructure and a business-friendly environment for companies engaged in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, packaging, logistics, research, and innovation.
The discussion was held between Mr. Yug Garg, Director, Curewell Group, and Mr. Jurabek Turdimurotov, Chief Specialist, Investment Department, Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, Republic of Uzbekistan. The interaction provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical ecosystem, investment opportunities, and potential areas of collaboration between Indian industry and Uzbekistan’s healthcare sector.
The discussions highlighted Uzbekistan’s strategic location at the crossroads of Central Asia, providing convenient access to regional and international markets. Participants also explored the country’s investor-friendly policies, expanding healthcare ecosystem, and favourable business environment, which together create significant opportunities for pharmaceutical production, technology partnerships, contract manufacturing, research collaborations, and export-oriented investments.
The meeting provided an important platform for exchanging perspectives on strengthening bilateral cooperation and encouraging greater participation of Indian pharmaceutical companies in Uzbekistan’s evolving healthcare landscape. The dialogue emphasized the potential for joint ventures, knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and sustainable industrial collaboration that can contribute to the growth of both countries’ pharmaceutical sectors.
