GTTCI Signs 4 Strategic MoUs with Kokand University to Advance Medical Education and Bilateral Healthcare Cooperation

Tashkent International Investment Forum | 10th June 2025

The Global Trade & Technology Council (India) (GTTCI) marked a major milestone in educational diplomacy and international healthcare collaboration by signing four pivotal Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Kokand University, Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum 2025.

The MoUs were signed between Dr. Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson of GTTCI, and Dr. G.E. Zakhidov, Director of Kokand University’s Andijan Branch, with the objective of fostering deeper cooperation in medical education, student mobility, institutional strengthening, and clinical research. The landmark signing was held in the presence of eminent dignitaries, stakeholders from academia and the medical sector, and international delegates participating in the forum.

At the heart of this collaboration lies a visionary initiative: to position Kokand University as a hub for Indian medical aspirants, supported by GTTCI as its exclusive recruitment and coordination partner in India. GTTCI will facilitate end-to-end student support services including admission facilitation, documentation, visa processing, pre-departure orientation, and post-arrival integration, ensuring a seamless and student-centric experience.

The partnership also emphasizes strengthening the academic and clinical ecosystem through:

  • Faculty exchange programs to enhance pedagogy and global exposure
  • Curriculum enrichment and FMGE preparation support for Indian students
  • Joint capacity-building programs and bilateral accreditation facilitation
  • Development of a “Mini India City” on campus with Indian cuisine, language support, and cultural amenities

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Rashmi Saluja noted,
“This partnership is not just about recruitment—it is about building a knowledge corridor between India and Uzbekistan. Together, we aim to elevate Kokand University into a regional centre of excellence in medical education, fostering innovation, cultural exchange, and international competitiveness.”

GTTCI’s engagement also extends to supporting the university in upgrading its medical infrastructure, implementing student-focused healthcare initiatives, and aligning academic modules with global benchmarks.

This collaboration sets the stage for a dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership that promises to enhance opportunities for Indian students while contributing meaningfully to the advancement of medical education in Central Asia. The GTTCI-Kokand alliance reflects a shared commitment to nurturing globally competent healthcare professionals, while deepening the educational and cultural ties between India and Uzbekistan.
